I was working in Nashville on a long-term assignment (read:  I was basically living there).  I had my dog there, so instead of flying home, I would have my company send Kevin out for visits.  It had been a really awful, rainy spring week in town and the weekend was supposed to be more of the same, so Kevin and I had to scrap our hiking plans.  However, that Saturday, the sun finally peeked out and it turned into a beautiful afternoon.  Kevin suggested we take the dog to a park in town to get out and enjoy the weather . We went to a gorgeous, very peaceful garden at the Parthenon (Nashville's art museum).  Elwood, my dog, was checking out all the flowers and rolling around like crazy and I was taking lots of photos of the grounds and all of us.  Then I turned around and Kevin was on a knee asking me to be his wife!  He had planned to do it in Nashville so that the dog would be part of it, too, since he was on our first date....

And speaking of Elwood being a part of it - we let him off the leash after we called our parents and took some "family photos."  He was going crazy and took off in a dead sprint and then completely blew out his knee!!  We spent the next two hours of our engagement day at the vet's office getting x-rays and planning for a major surgery.  The vet almost fell on the floor laughing when he found out why Kevin seemed so dazed!!
